Getting Ready
Jeanne's makeup by Kimquynh Make Up was flawless, and as a former pageant queen she knew exactly how to shine on camera. Meanwhile Minh and the groomsmen kept things easygoing, with plenty of car talk between photos.
The Tea Ceremony
The morning tea ceremony brought both families together for introductions, gifts and blessings. A light sprinkle outside did nothing to dampen the mood inside, where elders guided each tradition and the couple honored their parents with tea.
A Ceremony Led by Family
In a beautiful and personal touch, the ceremony was officiated by Minh's uncle and aunt, Son and Truc Ha. It was their first time officiating, and their words were warm, funny and full of love. There were more than a few tears in the room.
Dancing in the Rain
When the rain picked up, most couples would head inside. Jeanne went the other direction. She wanted photos in the rain, puddles and all, and Minh happily followed. Those images, with reflections, umbrellas and big smiles, are some of the most unique portraits we have ever made.
The Reception
Inside the hall, Ben Quach of Hao Wah served a delicious banquet, MC Thai Huynh kept the program lively and Phamtastic kept the dance floor packed all night. It was a celebration worthy of a pageant queen and a car guy.
