Getting Ready
The morning started calm, with Katelyn and her bridesmaids getting ready while John and his groomsmen kept an eye on the radar. Planning by Nini Massey kept everyone on schedule and stress free, even as the forecast kept changing.
The Rain Scare
Just before the ceremony, the clouds opened up. The arch was moved inside, guests were redirected, and everyone braced for a ballroom ceremony. Then the rain eased. With a little teamwork, the arch went back out and the ceremony moved back to the lawn. It was the best kind of plot twist.
A Ceremony on the Lawn
Under soft gray skies, John and Katelyn said their vows on the Crescent Oaks lawn surrounded by family and friends. There were happy tears in the front row and more than a few at the altar. The overcast light turned out to be beautiful for photos, soft and even across every face.
Portraits Around the Course
After the ceremony we wandered the grounds for portraits, using the oaks, the greens and the clubhouse for variety. John and Katelyn were relieved, happy and completely at ease, and it shows in every image.
The Reception
Inside, Gabrielle Events took over the music and kept the dance floor packed from the first song to the last. After all the weather drama, the party felt like a celebration of everything going right.
