Kapok Special Events Center, A Grand Clearwater Wedding Venue
Few venues in Tampa Bay set a scene quite like Kapok Special Events Center. Sweeping red carpeted staircases, crystal chandeliers, a courtyard fountain surrounded by lush gardens and a ballroom built for a big celebration make it a favorite for couples who want a reception that feels like a true event. For Vietnamese families with long guest lists, it offers the space, the elegance and the sense of occasion that a wedding banquet deserves.
For us as photographers, Kapok is a dream to work in. The grand staircase frames a wedding party beautifully, the gardens and fountain give us soft natural light for portraits, and the ballroom glows once the lights go down. It is a venue that rewards a team who knows how to move quickly between every corner of it, and on Andy and Mindy's day, we needed every minute.
The Ceremony Beneath Stained Glass
The celebration began on Saturday evening at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Golden light, white pews and soaring arches set the stage as the bridal party made their way down the aisle in dusty rose, and Andy waited at the altar for Mindy. Their vows were quiet and steady, and the faces of their families in the pews said everything about how much this moment meant to everyone in that room.
Lį»
Vu Quy, A Traditional Morning
The next day started long before sunrise. While the bridesmaids got ready in matching robes and the groomsmen fixed their bow ties, the families prepared for the Lį»
Vu Quy, the traditional ceremony where the bride is honored by her family before joining her husband's. Mindy was styled by Kim Phantran of Kimquynh Make Up, who kept her looking flawless through every one of the fifteen hours, and her gowns came from La Vie Bridal.
Then came one of our favorite sights at any Vietnamese wedding: the groom's procession arriving with rows of red gift trays, each one carried with care by family and friends. Bridesmaids in soft yellow Ôo dà i received the trays at the door, framed by a towering floral arch reading Vu Quy, and the elders of both families welcomed each other with the warmth and respect that make this tradition so meaningful. Andy and Mindy, dressed in traditional attire, honored their families and ancestors before the day's next chapter could begin.
Andy's sisters, Kim and Bettina, happen to be wedding planners, and they were an incredible help throughout the day. Keeping a fifteen hour, multi location wedding on schedule is no small feat, and their calm presence made all the difference for the couple and for our team.
A Classic Arrival
Between ceremonies, a red vintage Mercedes convertible waited in the driveway, the kind of detail that makes a wedding feel cinematic. It added a touch of old Hollywood glamour to the day and gave us a few of our favorite frames.
Portraits at Kapok, Gardens, Fountains and a Grand Staircase
With only one hour of rest all day, the time we had for portraits at Kapok was precious, and we made the most of it. The wedding party gathered on the red staircase beneath the chandeliers, then stepped out into the gardens where the courtyard fountain and the oaks gave us soft, glowing light. Mindy's gown spilled across the steps, the groomsmen brought nonstop energy, and Andy and Mindy found a few quiet minutes together by the fountain before the evening began.
The Reception, Sparklers, Clouds and a Party to Remember
As night fell, the ballroom transformed. Decor, sparklers and dreamy clouds by Phuong Nguyen of Lux Decor turned the dance floor into something out of a film, with Andy and Mindy sharing their first dance inside a low cloud, surrounded by glowing LOVE letters and fountains of sparks. The tiered cake, the champagne and the chandeliers made the room glow from every angle.
The evening was guided by Thuy Vincent Nguyen as MC, who kept the energy high and the program moving. Dinner was a true Vietnamese wedding banquet from Ben Quach and Hao Wah Chinese Restaurant, the kind of feast that has guests talking long after the last course. Then a surprise troupe of costumed dancers burst onto the floor, from pandas to foxes, and the room erupted in laughter.
When the dance floor finally opened, the wedding party proved they were true party animals, throwing down dance moves that had the whole room cheering. Guests lined up for the photobooth from Tam N Ho of I Heart Photo Bomb, and the night ended with a sparkler send off at 11 p.m.
The Vendor Team That Made It Happen
A weekend this full only works with a team that shows up ready. Thank you to Kapok Special Events Center for hosting such a beautiful celebration, to Kim Phantran of Kimquynh Make Up for hair and makeup that lasted from dawn until the last dance, and to La Vie Bridal for the gowns. Thank you to Ben Quach and Hao Wah Chinese Restaurant for an unforgettable banquet, to Phuong Nguyen of Lux Decor for the decor, sparklers and clouds, to Thuy Vincent Nguyen for leading the celebration, and to Tam N Ho of I Heart Photo Bomb for keeping the photobooth line busy all night. And a special thank you to Kim and Bettina for keeping everything on track.
Why Choose Kapok Special Events Center for Your Wedding
If you are planning a Vietnamese wedding in Tampa Bay, or any large and elegant celebration, Kapok Special Events Center belongs on your list. The grand staircase, chandeliers and gardens give you dramatic portrait locations without ever leaving the property. The ballroom comfortably hosts a full wedding banquet with a dance floor, a stage for your MC and room for special effects like sparklers and clouds. And its Clearwater location makes it easy to reach for guests coming from Tampa, St. Petersburg and across the Bay.
Our advice for Kapok couples: build in time for portraits on the staircase and in the gardens before guests arrive, plan your first dance with your decor team if you want clouds or sparklers, and give your photographers a clear timeline if your celebration includes a tea ceremony and a church ceremony before the reception.

Our team speaks both English and Tiįŗæng Viį»t, so we can guide the families as easily as the couple. We photograph and film weddings across Tampa, Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Orlando and beyond, and we would love to be part of yours.
Why Andy & Mindy's Wedding Will Stay With Us
Two ceremonies, fifteen hours on the big day, one hour of rest and not a single moment of lost joy. What we will remember most is how present Andy and Mindy stayed through all of it, holding each other's hands at the altar, honoring their families at sunrise and dancing like no one was watching at night. That is what makes a wedding day unforgettable. Not the schedule, not the venue, but the two people at the center and the people who showed up to celebrate them.
This is just a peek. There is so much more coming.
Congratulations, Andy & Mindy
Thank you, Andy and Mindy, for trusting Henry M Production with all of it. From the first gift tray at sunrise to the final song at Kapok, every part of this day was a joy to document. We hope these images carry you back to this day for the rest of your lives.
Wishing you a lifetime of happiness, adventure and love together. Congratulations, Andy and Mindy, onto every chapter that comes next.
